First place is an upload that the person had previously uploaded to another site. Does that not break judging criteria rule #2? He literally has “voted best design in cults” at the top of his upload, so obviously it’s been around for a while

This is a very simple remix of the person’s own design? That goes against rule #3 in the judging criteria. It’s a remix with a different image on the face, the same as changing text from “christmas” to “happy birthday”. It’s LOW EFFORT and should be banned from contests.

The other entries, well deserved (except the glasses really).
BBL please be consistent with your judging vs rules or clarify them very well before running any more contests.

Our winner for the Party Ware contest, SPStudio did post the winning model on the other website, but the publication date on that website is 21:40, 2023-12-13. The publication time for this winning model on MakerWorld is 04:57,2023-12-12, prior to the time SPStudio posted on the other website, so this does not violate judging criteria #2. We would also like to mention that SP’s profile picture with GIF, the clear and detailed assembly guide with video instructions and the reformable nature of the design is the main reason why this model is selected.
As for our second place, the Tetra Balance Game Design: Some of the current designs on MakerWorld regarding Tetris are boxes instead of the actual game, and some of designs with the actual game did not participate in the contest but had good download numbers, meaning that it’s a party ware that is desired by our makers. The idea of Roley32’s design might not be brand new, but the abundance of positive reviews and ratings, his detailed designs, and the attached picture of his children having a great time with his design helped his chances of winning.

Winning the contest is whatevers, it’s just a few people’s opinion. Featured models is where it’s at, and I think the selection process for that is definitely flawed, to put it nicely…
I listed the design in Makerworld on 12.12
Then listed the desigh in cults to be sold at USD0.65 on 13.12 (if u actually go and search it up u probably will know before u post this)
I guess its a pretty fun idea thus i got the Best Design award in Cults just a few hours after i posted on the 13th which is AFTER i posted in MW and as always i give my 2600 followers and supporters my design free of charge while i monetised some of them else where. You should have probably research it before claiming it have been uploaded for a long time already.
Qualification period of the contest is 04.12 to 24.12 in which my design released date falls within.
So i guess i technically fulfilled the condition to be quailfied in the contest? Thank you for taking notice in my work. It may look simple but i have used almost 3 days just to perfect the joint and distance in between the connectors. Attached is the screenshots.
There’s literally no reason for this comment considering Maker World already “put it straight” for them. What purpose does it serve?
As for OP’s points, when are we going to stop complaining about the contests? It seems every single time, no matter the changes that have been made, someone has something to complain about.
Hi basically i provided screenshot proof also to explain in details about the Best Design award given by cults but most importantly if u read to the end its more of a Thank you post to all who downloaded and liked and Bambu to make such exciting and interesting competitions.
That is fair. I didn’t check the date it was published on the other website and I should have.
So basically from now on I am going to take photos of my models with my dog/cat/niece to increase my chances. Got it.
We are now playing a game of photography and photoshop instead of judging based on merit, skill and uniqueness. You have made that clear multiple times now, and since it’s not something that I agree with I won’t be entering contests anymore.
If a site is giving out a “Best Design Award” after a few hours, it’s got to be a pretty worthless award lol. Especially since 4 whole people have paid to download it
But you are correct I should have confirmed. This is my bad and I am wrong here. Your entry falls into the correct date entry.

Yeahhhhh. I’ve learned my lesson. Bambu Labs is going to do what they want. No use in participating from now on.

Do you have a replyto the third item I put in the initial post about remixing your own design with a very minor image/text change? I’ve brought this up before in the below link because I saw this being an issue.

Yea i guess the Best Design award in Cults is pretty worthless. It didn’t even boost the visibility of my design at all yea 4 people downloaded it. Try finding the Annoying Scissor from the Best Design section and you will know what i mean.
Do also take note that as compared to Makerworld Featured, there are also A LOT of designs in Cults with the best design award so it probably got flooded down. There are only 430 people that viewed the link in Cults thus the exposure have not been great.
Anyway cults is never my main platform. I have been at MW since its start and i will continue to publish my work in MW mainly. I like MW more than the other platform anyway. 90% of my work are exclusive to MW.
I also have a large diff in followers, in Cults i have 7 Followers (LOL) but in MW i am among the TOP 10 Followers creators with 2600++ Followers thus its very much likely for someone to see my creation in MW than cults.
