PEI plate PLA to much adhesion

Hi, i have gold Pei Plate from Bambu, first layer 0.2, temp 220, bed 55, Bambu PLA matte. X1C, printing closed (35 Celsius). Can not remove after printing from bed (plate cold). Any ideas?

This is a case where glue can be used as a release agent. I don’t personally use glue as I would rather use a combination of flexing the build plate and a scraper to pop parts off. This is the scraper that works well for me.

@calvera.jarda, as counterintuitive as it sounds, glue is your quickest solution. Glue, in this case, will act as a release agent for you. Try the glue that Bambu sent with your printer. If you didn’t get any then try starting with the purple elmers glue that is soluble in water. I have no basis for this, but I think it’s the same. It will hold parts that need holding and it will release parts that need releasing!

But i read PEI plate not need glue, print get off the plate after cooling plate. In my case after cooling - PEI plate bends and print holding on plate. Something wrong.

Have you ever tried the other side of the plate?
Maybe there is something wrong with the coating on one side.
My prints always come off the plate easily, regardless of the material.

Yes, i buy X1C with Gold Pei, works fine, but from one moment stops working and prints cannot be removed. So i buy second PEI new. But same. Its not only PLA - PET-G, ASA on high temp plate with Dymafix same. Very strong adhesion.

You certainly are having the opposite effect of what you might be looking for. Your options are to wash with dish soap and then clean with isopropyl alcohol or to start using glue if you have eliminated all other variables like not using default print profiles.

My second P1S I ordered last month came with a slightly different gold PEI sheet than the first I picked up earlier in the year. The new plate has bright white lettering vs slightly grey on my older one, and a visibly different texture. PLA and PETG stick to the new plate far too well, even when completely cold. Not wanting to use glue as a release agent, I save the new plate for prints with small contact areas only, so it is useful to have around but annoying for normal printing.

Having the same issue here… my print is sticking extremely strongly to the plate, when I first got my printer the prints would come off very easily off the PEI textured plate once it cools down, now I have to wrestle with my prints to get them out and when I do get them off the plate I notice that they have residue from the plate where the actual gold colour of the plate would come off with the print leaving a slight gold paint colour on the print and that’s only the first 30 days of owning my p1p.

I noticed this issue happen after I started applying 91% isopropyl alcohol before every 3-5 prints

Yeah I just got my P1S and I went through the green PLA basic spool they send with the package… I had ordered PLA Matte the black color and printed a 20mm x 10mm (roughly) Snorlax and yeah that ■■■■ was stuuuuuuck on there. And like others have said im pretty sure I either peeled some of the plate up with it or the plastic on the bottom got bent and turned white … you now how it does when you bend it. Either way. Im going to try some water soluble elmers gllue.

The problem isnt sticking to the plate (it does that TOO well).

The problem IS getting it to release after its done. (the Bambu PLA matte)… maybe ill update this post hwen i see what happens.

Same issue, worked well for the first few prints now I have to tear it off the plate. All prints are now ruined with residue embedded on the bottom. I haven’t tried glue but have played around with all the heat settings I can. I’ve had the bed heat down to 30 degrees and same issue.

Anyone try calling support for warranty?

One word. 3DLac
No residue, no marks. It will pop out as soon as it starts cooling. To be honest, bottom residues only happen when people are in a hurry and don’t let the plate cool a little bit. Happened in others printers and will happen with bambu printers too.

Let… it… cool… and… then… flex… the… plate… Profit! :ok_hand:

Have let mine cool overnight, same issue. It’s hard to describe just how bonded the print is.

Will definitely check out 3Dlack

3dlac makes wonders and you only need to use it once every 30 or 40 prints. Or… hair spray works too as long as you like the smell

Brilliant, much appreciated!

Anytime. That’s why we are here. To share knowledge and to learn on the way, including me

At first I thought glue was only good to help with adhesion but I’ve quickly learned it not only helps with adhesion but also removal. Especially if you use filaments like PETG. I’ve tried the glue sticks but have come to use Magig as it isn’t messy.
