I have successfully printed a roll of PETG-CF color: black with minimal issues so i thought I’d buy another roll and continue printing.
Well after drying the filament for more that 24 hours at 65C I tried to print the exact models as the previous roll. The print quality was awful, so i did a retraction, pressure advance, and flow rate calibration. The print quality improved a little bit, but after 2-3 prints each about 45 minutes each, the extruder stopped extruding the PETG-CF filament. I could slightly pinch the filament where it entered the bowden tube and feel that it the extruder was not grabbing the filament.
So I tried printing the same thing out of PLA and had no issues, and the extruder had a strong grip of the PLA filament. And I tried a different color of PETG-CF (green) that has only been drying for about an hour at 65C and it has no problem printing.
Is it possible to overdry PETG-CF?
What’s going on?
