PETG Transparent, black inclusions in the print

Hello dear community, after finding a lot of useful information here, there is now a topic that puzzles me.

I have got to grips with PETG Transparent very well, I print the first quarter with black PETG incl. cleaning tower. Then the transparent PETG is conveyed from the AMS, everything is great in itself but after several layers (50-100) a black lump ends up in the wall. If I’m lucky it will be completely enclosed, which isn’t nice but at least it doesn’t make a hole in the wall. The object has to be watertight and lumps that appear randomly are problematic.

I have printed objects of different heights and it always happens at different heights. I also let the cleaning tower run at full height but it preferred to lose the dirt/clumps in my print object. I don’t know what I can do and I don’t know where this black lump is coming from.

Printing on P1S, on 0.20mm standard Profile, PETG Translucent Profile. Modified: nozzle 240 C°, flow 0.9785, filling 30%, cleaning tower on, speed slightly reduced outer wall 100mm/s, inner wall 200mm/s, cooling min 10% max 30% overhangs with 90%. Carefully dried and AMS with low humidity

Do you have any ideas about where this lump is coming from and how to get rid of it?

Many thanks for your support

Seems like one black poop was stucked somewhere or jumped out of the trash pipe and was inserted into your print. You were lucky, that your print did not fail in total, I guess it is because your wall is quite thick.
Unfortunately this is something which can just happen.

Thanks for your feedback, I also think it’s just bad luck. The problem occurs with wall thicknesses 2 and 3. I couldn’t find the problem with a pure black PETG HF, just fine hairs. But you just can’t see it there because it’s not transparent.

It’s funny, because I am currently printing with translucent PETG (a christmas ornament), but unfortunately I don’t find any settings where even only one wall is really transparent.

To see what is possible and what is not:

In my prints I could see that the more wall lines or thickness I added, the less transparent it became. However, I used the standard profile. In the Bambu Wiki there is an alternative method, Printing tips for transparent PETG | Bambu Lab Wiki which I have not tried because I don’t need absolute transparency but it might help you and the link from EnoTheThracian is also very comprehensive

Small Update, i tryed the printing tips für transparent PETG, but only the part with Nozzle tempature 270 C° and Part cooling “min / max = 0” and rise the Flow ration to 1.01. After around 7h printing (big object) i´m really impressd, its a lot clearer. Before it was like milkglass, i like it to but if you want it really transparent then follow the tips of the link from Bambu Wiki. For me i dont need it really clear, its bit to shinny, like the milky glas look more, but i hope that the 270 C° and the wall thiggnes fix the problem with watertight. I dont know why its on PETG transparent such a big deal at PETG HF the half wall thiggnes and lower Nozzle temp is enough to make it watertight.
