Physical button to start print

Hi,
for automation purposes I would like to add a physical button on my X1C to start the print.
Is there a potential-free contact I could use to trigger the start via a button or a similar option?

I know the display has a software (re)start button but I need a hardware trigger or similar way.

// Edit:
I mean, it DOES have a physical button on the top with a circle red arrow. But unfortunately, this button does not trigger a new print, even when the last print is finished. The circle arrows indicate a “reprint” functionality.
Is it possible to setup this button for a resprint of the last file?

Thank you

That button is for turning the screen on an off.

A fysical button sounds a bit odd if you are taking about automation if you ask me. But I think the only option is to use MQTT an use Home Assistant to let a physical button send the right MQTT toimmand to the printer.

Hello Robert2,

thanks for your input. I was planning to use a robot arm to remove the item from the printer and start a new print by pushing that very button.

But, of course, I am always open to new ideas like your suggestion to use MQTT. I will look into it, thanks.

If you or other users have more ideas, please let me know. Thanks!

Do you mean is there a button that you could virtually push with a potential free contact? Nope.

Try this:
