Picture from the camera is very jerky

I have two X1C machines and just received a new P1P from the 2nd Anniversary sale. I know that the camera in the P1P is only 720p while the X1C camera is 1080p, but is that the reason the camera on the P1P is very jerky? I don’t think the resolution difference is the cause of the jerkiness and I do believe it’s probably in the software or hardware. Anyone know for sure?

Is there a fix to make the video smoother?

The camera on P1P & P1S have a lower frame rate, like 2 frames per second. This is because they have a weaker processor and you can’t do anything about it.

I do not believe there’s a way to fix it. The hardware is different between the P1P and the X1C. The P1P runs off of a ESP32 microcontroller which doesn’t have as much processing power as the X1C’s Rockchip RV1126.

It’s not even 2 frames per second, it’s 2 seconds per frame (= 0.5 fps). It’s enough for timelapses and checking if the print has failed or not, but I wouldn’t use the word “video” for its output…

You’re correct on the reason though: It’s not the camera which is at fault, it’s the lack of processing power in the P1 series printers.
