I printed a few parts using the Bambu recommended settings (mostly) and they came out good, but I noticed the second part had a tiny bit of this issue in one little spot, and third part was too bad and I cancelled it. Is this just under extrusion? It only did it in this one part of the perimeter, the rest of the part is fine, so it makes me think it’s a problem with the step file or it’s a problem with the filament/extruder/bowden tube when it’s in that particular spot on the build plate and it’s causing the filament to hang up?
I also noticed my settings don’t exactly match Bambu’s as I went by their general PLA-LW suggestions which say 245C and 0.6 flow ratio, while the actual PLA-Aero chart says it should be 0.5 ratio for 245C, but I think that would give me even less flow and make this even worse, right?
Without entering the details of flow rate vs printing temperature, and since you mentioned that the first print was ok, the second print had minor effects, and the third needed to be cancelled, my first guess would be moisture affecting the printing quality over time.
PLA Aereo bonds exceptionally to water.
You may know it better if this is a likeable cause or not. I.e. did you properly dry it? Was it in a dry environment during the print?
I thought about that, but it was dried for 8 hours before going into a dessicated AMS <10%, so I don’t think it’s a moisture issue, but I can try drying it again.
So I dried again for 12 hours @ 55C, and have the same problem. When I stacked all my parts together, I noticed the underextrusion is happening at about the same spot relative to the build plate/extruder, in the front right corner around 4 o’clock position, on all the parts. It’s worse on some than others, but everywhere else on the part it’s fine.
The position dependency has me thinking it’s friction in the bowden tube at that particular extruder position, which is annoying because my AMS units are stacked on the printer so I can’t just easily remove the glass to see if that’s the issue, but I guess I have no choice as it seems like that’s the issue.
