PLA Basic Light Grey Problem?

Problem by PLA Basic Light Grey?

As you can see in the photos, the PLA Basic Light Grey is really a disaster, I just purchased 10+ rolls, and I am not a rookie here, all the calibration are done, K value set to minimum already(0.005), and Flowrate from 0.96-0.985 all tested, same result, compared to a un-calibrated PLA Basic Orange, the corners are over extruded, and surfaces are also as bad, overhang too,

In the flowrate calibrating, all 9 pieces have “inflated” corners

anyone could help?

I have BL Light Grey and it comes out faultlessly.

Not sure about the horse, but, he is in his happy place.

thanks, was my first post here. Now all the pics are uploaded

This is a community, what did you do to solve the problem, help the next person.

I was meaning the images are uploaded correctly. The filament problem still unsolved.

Did you use the default configuration and printed out of box?

Yes, I left it exactly as selected by the slicer and AMS when it automatically added itself.

I’ve used it on a P1S and A1 mini without any issues.

thanks, I am using X1 and A1M, both has the same problem, all other filaments are just fine, only this light grey, I can even play good with PLA Basic Silver, which has the most complains. But only this light grey make me headache.

Have you tried drying it?

I tried 2 spools directly out of box, and the bag was tight as other spools, pretty fresh I can say. However I did not try to dry them, but my 6 months old not air sealed filaments are just fine for details, only some stringing problem occurs.

Filament can and does come with moisture from the factory.

Pretty good chance that there’s moisture in the filament. Especially if the filament is fresh from the bag as there’s no telling how long it has been cruising through the tropics…

Hi guys, after 3 hours of drying, I did a test print, seems like the problem solved, yes, the problem was caused by moisture, I will do another full 6 hours drying to confirm it again, thank you all!

Are you able to weigh the filament before and after drying sessions?

Despite never experiencing this myself, I was correct, yay!

not really, first I dont have much left over, second I send to print directly after drying out, if I have further light grey spool with same problem I will weigh it afterwards.

Weighing after, without weighing before drying won’t tell you anything.
