PLA-CF not available as an option

I did my first print using the included PLF-CF black filament no problem.

The Bambu Studio will not let me select this as a filament option now though. PLA-CF is selectable in Filament Selection with all the check boxes for brands / types, but is not available in the Filament drop-downs on the Printer section of the Prepare screen.

I have only 1 or 3 AMS slots being shown in the Filament Selection despite 3 being shown on the Device page.

Any ideas?!

Did you try: “Synchronize filament list from AMS”?

I did.

Looks like AMS is not picking up the filaments automatically now via RFID.

Power cycle the printer and AMS and the problem most likely is gone. If not, reinserting the filament afterwards might do the trick.

I tried this and the printer recognises all the filaments.

BambuStudio shows it in the printer tab, but it is not an option in the Prepare tab.

You have to pre-select it in the ‘Filaments to use’ section.

Here or elsewhere?

I already have all these selected.

PLA-CF not showing up in the drop-down list though as shown in the previous post.

Thanks for the help!

It does show up. Click confirm on the window show above (Filament selection) and check again - you can scroll down by the way

Yep, I did this.

Doesn’t show-up in the drop down.

Silly question. Did you use the sync/resync button?

Yup.

May just reinstall BambuStudio and see what happens.

It used to recognise that spool as I did my first print with it!

I’m a month late here, but I just set up my printer today and ran into the same problem. It was a nozzle size issue for me. I selected all of the nozzles during setup and new projects were starting on 0.2. The printer comes with a 0.4 installed. Choosing that instead made PLA-CF available.

I suppose this is because the fibers are likely to clog smaller nozzles, so using PLA-CF on a 0.2 is forbidden.

Yep, that was the problem!

Thanks for the help.

Yep same problem and answer. Am I missing something or is there a lack of info at startup as I’m not finding a bunch of details such as this?

Same Problem too!

NO PLA-CF !

Total noob here.
My problem is I can’t print with Bambu PLA-CF as well. It shows in Bambu Studion but I can’t select it into the print.
Mine already had 0.4 Nozzle size specified.
I’m missing something - any help appreciated

Not sure if all issues mentioned here are the same. I am happy the the original post has been resolved, but the promlem I got was the studio was telling me it was not possible to choose PLA-CF eveb though it detected it.

In my case, I had to go to Obect list on the plate and change the filament to the AMS slot containing the PLA-CF.

I hope this helps the last person who might have similar challenge.

Best,

That one helped me out! Thanks a lot!

What worked for me: Prepare → Assembly View to select PLA-CF.

This could perhaps be because the shop states that the filament is not AMS compatible and therefore perhaps no detection is provided for it because it is not intended to be used with the AMS
