PLA print leaks under pressure

I wanted to make handle for my sprayer. However after printing i saw tat it leaks under pressure. All tutorials on youtube cover water leaking without pressure.

I use PLA nozzle 210ºC buildplate 60ºC layer height 0.2mm nozzle 0.4mm.

Here is my sliced model.

I also saw that it leaks only on this long seam.
On bambu slicer it is called “Gap Infill”

That’s not Gap Infill, that’s the Seam.
You might try more Walls & Gyroid Infill.

I would add a couple more walls.

Though I’ve not tried this, I think a scarf seam joint might help by overlapping the filament at the seam position. Turn on the Advanced Process settings if you don’t see the option. Use contour and hole, Order of walls- inner/outer/inner, slow the outer wall speed. This should also make the seam nearly disappear and improve the appearance.

Now I printed with 4 walls.
Lowered print speed:
inner 300mm/s to 200mm/s
outer 200mm/s to 125mm/s
Used Order of walls- inner/outer/inner.

I also decided to leave only threads and reduced inner diameter so there is less surface to leak from.

I still have leaks. Maybe on threads however they are perfect match with sprinkler.
There is also a seam.

it’s because of micro gaps between layers vs water under pressure, inherent to fdm printing

Found this paper after trying to make a similar adapter for a garden hose timer, 3 cm solid infill petg still kept leaking

Try dipping it in acetone, let it dry and repeat. I did that to make vase mode floats water tight. I’m not sure if it will work for the pressure you have though, the process will work better with ABS.

I haven’t had much success leak proofing PLA with acetone. I’ve had more luck when I painted a PLA print with an epoxy coat. I’ve also tried clear nail polish with good success.

@woj_now have you considered trying to print the part in ABS and then dipping it in acetone. This is the best way I’ve found to seal up the layers.

I didn’t try because i have a1 mini. Maybe there is some ABS that is easy to print in printers without enclosure.

Yes there is, try bambulabs ABS-GF.
The glasfiber makes it shrink less then pure ABS and is thus easier to print.
