PLA Silk Dual Color

Anyone else have had any success with PLA Silk Dual Color getting the actual fade? I’m really loving the color but its more of a mix/blend than an even fade. Not complaining, it’s beautiful just asking for some techniques in working with it. Sample print: minisword.mp4 - Google Drive

For a fade effect, you need to use a rainbow filament (of sufficient height and volume or print multiples) where colors change along the filament length. Dual- and tri-filaments have a uniform color distribution along the length with sharp divisions in the cross-section.

Thanks but what I was looking for was for this effect: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0651/1555/4032/files/cute_dragon_model.png?v=1704351429 which is the sample they showed as you rotate the model the color fades from one to the other on this product page: PLA Silk Dual Color | Bambu Lab US

I see tons of different purples blues and blacks in your video lol. Take a picture of your item on a black background with the right light and it’ll look like their picture.

This is what I have that I took this morning before i left. I used the " Midnight Blaze (Blue-Red)" filament for overall and Bambu Silk Silver for the grey lines that you see. If you notice on the image the red shows a little on the blade but then when the level goes to flat its blue/purple mix. I guess I have to play with the orientation of it. Don’t get me wrong it’s beautiful I was just hoping to see the red but then when you tilt it you see the blue but maybe that’s not how it works and it just prints one color per specific angle. It’s a new filament here and I’m sure as more people use it they will have some techniques.

I think you did achieve what you can with the filament and the model. It looks kquite cool and in terms of effect, I think this is as much as can be expected.
If you take a different model, for example one with more volume, more thickness and a curvature rather than sharper edges, then the effect will be more gradual. Or go for one of the multi-faceted vases to catch the light.

Sounds good, thanks for the feedback.
