Can you please add a filament shrinkage factor settings for the filament profiles as SoftFever has in Orcaslicer? I’ve tried using the XY compensation in the print settings but this seems to be ‘per model’ because the unit is mm. It is really annoying to have to cancel prints halfway because I forgot to upscale them before slicing. Orcaslicer’s filament shrinkage works great, but I’d prefer to use Bambu Studio for this printer.
You just pointed out another setting that Orca Slicer has and BS does not.
I have been struggling because BS has height modifiers and Orca does not. But Orca has pressure advance and BS does not.
Regarding the pressure advance (and calibration); I think BambuLabs want’s us to use X1’s auto-calibration so it didn’t make sense in the past. Now with the P1P, they should really put calibration back into the slicer.
I’ve been using Orcaslicer to generate the .3mf file and was looking for height modifiers just yesterday. Not in the purpose that @duane777 was looking for, but I would like the acceleration to decrease as the print get teller. I am worried the shaking it going to affect the print the higher it gets.
I tried to add a modifier for the top-half of the model, but acceleration doesn’t seem to be something I can modify. I know it wouldn’t be user-friendly, but I wonder if a slicer would ever let you put in formula’s for these values. Something like:
maxAccel = 10000 - ((zHeight / maxHeight) * 9000)
Height modifiers just got added to BS which is the upstream for Orca, I suspect Orca will be adding them soon.
So the new beta release still doesn’t have a shrinkage setting. This wouldn’t be such a problem if the object scaling worked in world coordinates, if you rotate a part and then try scaling it in X and Y, the model shows the arrows according to it’s coordinate system. So it’s really difficult to keep track of whats going on when you’ve selected all the parts to upscale. Some parts appear to scale in different axis to others depending on how they were placed in the CAD assembly. I find this ridiculous for a machine that is meant for printing ABS. Why must it be so hard? I’ve stopped and restarted prints countless time because I forgot to scale it. PLEASE add it, it’s already been in Orcaslicer for months now.
I agree, this is the only thing holding me back from using bambu studio over orcaslicer currently. I am wondering if bambu realizes this is an issue and are working to add this feature?
