Please Add "Height Range Modifier" To Bambu Studio

I searched first and didn’t find it, so apologies if I just missed it…

It would be great to see the Height Range Modifier capability seen in PrusaSlicer added to Bambu Studio. I have several items that I print which rely on changed layer height during a small range in the print. The Variable Layer Height tool doesn’t do the job for what I need.

Thanks!

Or at least add the layerheight to the options to modify on sub-parts (when you cut models)

For sure at least that :slightly_smiling_face:

I need exactly the same function for my prints…

Would be a great step from Bambu to implement this function in Bambu Studio!!

me too - I dont know why it was not copied over from Prusa Slicer?

So the Height Range Modifier is now available in the latest beta release of Bambu Studio. It appears to work but the results are not saved in the 3mf file. :frowning:

My experience using the new height range modifier was not enjoyable. I wrote up an issue describing the problems I saw and proposing solutions. If you have any ideas then please add them to the github issue

The issue with not saving HRM settings to the 3mf file was fixed in the latest release, so there’s a plus.

I just read your issue on GitHub. While I understand your points, HRM seems to me to be equivalent to what I’m used to in PrusaSlicer, so I guess the Bambu Studio implement is what I had expected.

That said your suggestions are good ones. I’m not sure having multiple range settings for an object will be a thing, but it would be handy at times.

My biggest problem, as someone who had never used the height range modifier, was that things were hidden until I stumbled onto the way to make them visible.

Makes complete sense. Were it not for using it in PrusaSlicer I’d have been in the same boat.

I am missing the ability to adjust infill with a height range modifier as I can in Prusa slicer. I tried using cut function but it actually cuts the part and leaves a void in the bodies.

I just gave it a go on a basic cube, and the infill could be changed for the height range specified. It’s under the Strength tab for the modifier.
