It really is a pain having to set my AMS back up when I import a print. Every time. Every model. Every MakerWorld print I have to set my AMS back up.
Why can’t it be as simple as importing the model and the print settings? Why does it have to mess up my AMS settings in the process?
Resync is kind of useless until they sort out all the issues with the filament profiles.
We may consider adding an option to only import the geometry of model, discarding all settings.
Please also note that:
For a multi-color print profile, the filament list contains the actual color used by the designer.
If we discard all the filament information in the 3mf, the painted color will get lost.
For a model that requires special filament, such as using TPU to print the tires of a car, this information will also get lost if users discard the filament settings in the 3mf.
What’s the difference between downloading raw files and this option that may be under consideration?
Even if it’s like a pop up when you import the .3mf in. Similar to when you open multiple .stl there is a pop up that asks if you want to import it in as a single object in parts. That would be perfect.
Yes please. It’s quite annoying to import the 3mf files to then needing to reorganize every settings to what it was before. (print profile, print plate, Printer settings and ams.
I want to import 3mf and be able to have my settings remain in the background or get reverted afterwards. If i import someones model as a 3mf, close bambu studio and open it again i want it to be whatever it was before importing the 3mf
@Tanklet Please, please, please do this. Not all of my filaments are Bambu so doing a resync still requires me to manually change the Generic filaments back to my custom created filaments.
@DWdesigns Not all models include raw files. It’s getting to be more of an exception to be able just the raw files today. That’s what I do when I can but it’s just not always an option.
I have added this to our plan list.
If everything goes well, it will be included in the next official release of Bambu Studio.
