The tree supports keep breaking during prints. I would like to adjust how many walls/loops my supports have in them and how many base layers there are, but there are no settings to do so (I made changes to the “Support wall loops” setting, but it changes nothing). The taller tree supports will often break free from the single layer it has on the base and there is no setting to increase the number of base layers or the number of walls/loops on supports to increase stability. Tree supports with sharp changes in angles will also break frequently because the layers don’t actually fuse properly. They don’t make enough contact with prior layers. Adding more loops/walls to these sharp changes in angle would fix this, but it can’t be adjusted. Please add settings to change the number of walls/loops in supports and to modify the number of base layers of supports. Thank you.
If this is a Bambu Studio feature request, you will need to change the categories you assigned when you created the post.
Use the pencil edit tool where you title is and change the first entry to “bambu studio”, change the second category box to “feature request”.
Without those changes, it is unlikely to be reviewed by a staff member at some point in the future.
Thank you. I didn’t see that category before. One issue, though. It tells me I have to add a Feature request flag which I would select bambu-studio-feature, but I don’t see any way to do that.
The issue that “changing Support wall loops doesn’t work” has been fixed internally and will be released in 1.10.
The other two problems you mentioned,
“The taller tree supports will often break free from the single layer” and “Tree supports with sharp changes in angles will also break frequently” are also considered.
Great to hear. the number of wall loops should fix a lot
