“Not allowed to upload a 3mf file that contains custom printer/process types or filament types” is so vague that I had no idea that you require “Generic PLA” for the filament and spent a day changing everything else on the profile. Please add “USE GENERIC FILAMENT IN YOUR PROFILE” on the upload page to avoid user frustration. Add in other common items that fall under “customer printer/process types” because it’s so vague we don’t know what it means.
You don’t have to use Generic PLA. You can use any of the the built-in filaments. I upload profiles with Bambu Lab PLA Basic all the time.
If you have created customised filament profiles, those are the reason.
You should try to use generic-based profiles or Bambu Lab filaments when creating your models.
Keep in mind, your profile must be capable of printing, if you do not have BL filaments, do not pretend it works with them.
Your model could be removed if pretending to have used BL filaments and the profile fails when others can’t print the model, as the profile will be deemed damaged.
Well I also hit this issue, except mine was because the default print profile was still selected from when I had to re-install bambu studio… It’s even more daft for the literal default profile to trigger this error message.
That’s exactly my point. The error is so vague and unhelpful that I have no idea. I don’t mind the restrictions. I mind that they’re not advertised to make it easy to stay within them so that I don’t waste time repeatedly remaking the parameters trying to guess what’s allowed.
I looked for help pages and found nothing useful, but it wasn’t until I’d wasted a couple of hours changing the profile and submitting only to fail repeatedly that I thought to look in the community. Right there, you can find a bunch of similar “what does this error mean?” topics posted. The solution is a quick simple edit to a web page that would go a long way to making life easier for users.
