Please explain hueforge to me

Is this just separating into CMYK and then making one print for each color, with thickness depending o the color strength? Or is there something else I am missing?

Hueforge is in fact a software which allows you to create detailed multi-color 3D Prints using what’s called swap-by-layer. It isn’t like a slicer or a painting program, but it generates a stl model file for you, based on the image you worked on. It also generates a text file showing the layer heights at which you are to make filament colors swaps. Obviously, using an AMS helps and speeds up the printing tremendously, but then again, most makers don’t have this, so they do the filament swap manually.
