Please help confirm: Extruder Interface Board V9 - X1C?

I had a terrible extruder clog issue which necessitated removing one of the connectors that had silicone glue on it. I got an error telling me about reinserting the connector and when I went to do so, I noticed that my ham-fisted, arthritic, stupid, bumbling hands broke the wires connecting…whatever that connection connects.

Also, to get to that connector, I had to take off the 3 connectors one would take off for a complete hotend change and I pulled off the tiniest of those plastic connections. The tool I used: Wiha 26810 5.7-Inch Precision Chip Lifter - Threading Tools - Amazon.com

I want to fix what I have broken, but I doubt I have the dexterity to solder the wires back together and my reading glasses may not be strong enough to put the little plastic thing back. Consequently, I am going to order 2 of the interface boards, but I wanted clarification on the version.

Questions:

  1. In the images provided, am I correct that I have v.9?

  2. Do any of you use specific tools to handle such fine motor skill tasks (please let there be tools)?

  3. Any advice on how to maneuver around this area without damaging things?

I thank anyone for any advice or for just reading my rant.

Are you saying that you hold the magnifying glass with one hand and pry off the connector with the other? No tools?

I ask because, generally, one of my hands is usually holding a flashlight, but there is also one of the connectors that needs to have the top of it depressed whilst pulling out the connector.

Thank you for responding. I will see what I can do with a magnifying glass.

No I bought one of those that clamps to my desk and it has a very bright light with it.

Thank you for your continued reply.

How do you get the parts out of the printer housing so you can utilize the desk-mounted magnifying glass?

Im able move mine close enough to see in the printer.

I make heavy use of my phone camera as a magnifier, either “live” or by snapping a picture. Just zoom in to read tiny print - ingredient labels, paint labels on small cans, etc. Automatic exposure control brightens the screen image in dim conditions.

It’s a little late to mention this to assist in fixing a printer, but there are many 3D-printed tripod and phone mount models available. For hands free use at the workbench, I clamp the phone onto a small tripod while soldering tiny connections with both hands free. It helps a lot when soldering tiny components.

You need something like this Headlamp. They work great in many different situations

Excellent! I just got one, but with magnifier lenses on it as well.

Has anyone used one of these: Amazon.com: Jonard Tools S-340 DIP/IC Insulated Spring Steel Extractor Tool, 4" Length : Tools & Home Improvement ?

I have the bamboo lab X1 carbon and I have a clicking stuttering the filament doesn’t go all the way into the extruder to print I have seen forums with multiple people having this problem before I have replaced the hot end head the filament sensor The nylon tubing the extruder gears I have tried external spool I tried going previous update and then back to the recent update I can’t figure it out The only thing I could think of is to keep replacing parts they won’t write me back or maybe it takes so long to get a response for some reason but I would very much appreciate advice that anyone has on this problem
