Error Message:
Please remove the external filament from the extruder. If an AMS is to be used later, please connect the PTFE tube to the coupler and click the “retry” button.[210810].
Situation:
This happens every time I do a multi color prints and occurs around the point it is switching filament. If I cancel the print at this point and try a new print that is single color then it prints perfectly fine. I’ve checked all the tubes from the AMS all the way to the extruder and I’ve disassembled and reassembled the extruder and have found nothing. I’m at a bit of a loss and looking for any answers.
Edit: I have two AMS (only been using one for this test) and an ams hub).

There’s a filament sensor in the printhead and it’s probably flakey. My understanding is that it’s a Hall sensor, but there has to be more to it than that since filament isn’t magnetic.

Yes besides a pcb there is a metal flap that is pushed aside as the filament comes thru. My switch was rubbing on one side of the housing. Which is made of some type of clear plastic. A little file work fixed my problem.
