Functional Practicality
The value and rationality of the model in practical use, and whether it addresses practical needs that are not yet widely covered by 3D printing solutions.
Experiential Enjoyment
The model is fun in its appearance or interactive design, capable of providing an enjoyable user experience.
Technical Proficiency
The model presents a high degree of implementation difficulty at the design level, requiring significant time and effort from the creator, and consequently demonstrates a high-quality finished outcome. Simply increasing the number of parts or adding unnecessary structural complexity is not considered technical proficiency.
Design Originality
Originality and uniqueness in concept or technical approach.
Overall Completeness
Whether the model includes a print profile will be taken into account. Failure to include a print profile will significantly affect the points.
The richness of the model’s visual and textual details, as well as the clarity and completeness of assembly guide or usage instructions, will also be considered in the evaluation.
Non-Compliant Models
To maintain a healthy community ecosystem and creative order, models that violate community rules will have their points affected:
Models under the following circumstances will not be eligible for any point incentives: copied models, inconsistency between images and model files or absence of real-life photos, duplicate uploads, or unusable models (e.g only images or corrupted files).
Points for other non-compliant models will also be significantly affected. Please refer to the Community Guidelines for detailed violation types.
Reputation Score
Fluctuates due to user misconduct, including but not limited to: mutual boosting and downloading, automated downloads by machines, trading boosts, and uploading or posting content that violates community guidelines.
Apparently they added more detail here or clarified language. What I still wish they would explain, is how are the subjective aspects of this (Appeal, practicality, etc) are being assessed??
MakerWorld understandably keeps much of its ranking system confidential, since revealing too much would make it easier for people to game the platform. However, I would appreciate some insight into whether my account reputation has been negatively affected, along with any recommendations on how I could improve the quality of my designs.
My assumption is that the subjective scoring process works in two stages. First, a proprietary AI system evaluates each submission. Then, when a user redeems points for a gift card, any submissions previously flagged by the AI may undergo human review, where a reviewer could potentially adjust the overall points before redemption.
yeah however they do it I would just really like to be able to see how each of my models is being scored on these criteria, and how that factors into points given. Otherwise it’s just impossible to know how my models are performing against this.
Looks like MW finally starts implementing the reward point update they announced months ago.
It will be interesting to see if the implementation actually makes a meaningful difference.
They don’t need excuse if they want to reduce the points. It’s their money. They can do whatever they want with it, including doing away with the reward program entirely.

I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but when I had 29 uploaded models I would get 100+ points/day, but when i uploaded the 30th model last week lately I only get 20… has anyone experienced something similar?
I don’t think number of models uploaded matters, but I could be wrong about that. Maybe if you upload a lot of the same type of models that might count against you in a, hidden to us, account reputation score multiplier.
As a new user this was very helpful. Nowhere near yet affected by earning points but I have been doing reviews and boosts to those that I have printed from. @oldschool3dprints
