Point System Nonsense WTF

How is this fair? I create Hue Forges, just started a few months ago, but have a Mass Effect series and some other kind of popular pictures (with multiple profiles I created) that people seem to like. I noticed someone posted a print with a comment, but when I look at the statistics, it doesn’t show that anyone has printed or even downloaded it. When I inquired this is the message they sent back to this request:

The situation you mentioned is normal.

Users contribute to the download count of your uploads, but to maintain the safety and fairness of our community, our system imposes certain limitations on the counting of download and print quantities contributed by each user.

This means that if certain users exceed the set frequency limits for downloads or prints within a certain timeframe or if the users’accounts downloading or printing your model has already reached its contribution limit, the download and print count may not be credited when downloading or printing a model.

This measure is currently applied universally across the platform to prevent abuse, and to maintain fairness and accuracy in the counting system.

Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.

As of writing my statistics for this picture show 6 collects, 0 downloads, 0 prints. I know they changed the point system recently, so this is what I am operating off of from their own post, which also contradicts themselves (full link to post here: Why We’re Upgrading Our Points System - MakerWorld - Bambu Lab Community Forum):

It is not about cutting rewards or hiding the rules. MakerWorld will keep creator rewards at the same generous level. It is about making them fairer. MakerWorld will provide regular, plain-language updates on what it values and will keep listening to community feedback.

We’re hiding the exact formula, not to be secretive, but to let us train and refine it without it being reverse-engineered.

So, I can only imagine that someone sees one of my pics, likes it, clicks on my profile and see that I have a whole Mass Effect series, start downloading and printing them back-to-back because they are excited; but in doing so it negatively affects my count. I am not some large creator and have only been doing these for about 2 1/2 months.

I can’t ask for any limits as they have stated they are not telling anyone their new super duper secret formula. I will message them I don’t agree and to look at it again but have zero hope that someone will actually look at it and do anything from my previous experience with customer support.

Sorry for the long post, but what can I do?

That is crazy.

The lengths they go to just to stop people from getting points is unbelievable. Another „trustworthy” company.

The short version of everything you wrote: MakerWorld probably thinks this is a friend of yours based on a noticeable and suspicious pattern of behavior.

It could be: the same IP address, a similar IP address, printing and processing only your stuff, etc., etc.

…and then I looked at your profiles and saw that you guys are trying to cheat, and you’re even dumb enough to message Bambu and start a thread here: It’s forbidden to boost each other’s posts back and forth. Every moddel you’ve posted has been rated and boosted by your friends or secondary accounts.

You two aren’t even trying to hide it - your buddy is the only one who rates it and gives you a boost,

That is expressly prohibited.

Be glad they didn’t ban both of you permanently. Sir, you’re a cheater and you’re even doing it in public.

The list goes on and on - this applies to almost every model…

There a numerous threads with similar context. If you have more models you will wonder why there are more downlaods/prints on the print profile than on the model page. And why more prints than downloads, even the only count one print/download per account that make the downlaod/print.
Got quiet strange the last few months.

Bambu is cracking down harder on scammers and cheaters, and they are absolutely right to do so in this case. It’s just that very few of them actually post on the forum - they tend to stay quiet. This is a clear-cut case of someone trying to exploit the system.

Bambu is now taking stronger action against incorrect tags, fake cover, models that are not correctly labelled as NSFW, as well as instances of abuse of the system.

Fortunately, this benefits honest users a little, even if it’s still far from enough.

I agree with you 100%, and that’s a ongoing topic here on the forum, after all.

There was once an explanation as to why Bambu doesn’t do this. Whether or not people believe it, I’ll just pass it along: They don’t want to publish the exact formulas and mechanisms in case scammers take advantage of them, as has happened in the past.

It’s their site, their points, and their rules are entirely up to them to run as they wish. You don’t pay for this program; it’s a value-add for users of the site.

I upload models to give back to the community, any points I get are just a bonus. I don’t feel entitled to anything at all for doing so.

You might try the same.

I wouldnt be that harsh about it. The OP is a valid complaint until you notice that there is some tomfoolery going on. And this is not inherently obvious until pointed out by some like like to do deeper dives.

Hottr has over 100 models, you have 2. Despite the difference in scale, both are giving back.

You are absolutely incorrect. I don’t have any “friends” where we are boosting each other. As I stated, it is a series for Mass Effect. They like them and print them. That person has only shown me the Mass Effect prints they have done. Did you see them on any of my other prints as I have more than just Mass Effect? You have no idea what you are talking about, and your snarky, know-it-all response is not a good look Sharky.

I just took a quick look - you’re running a friend network. You’re not arguing with me, but with the MakerWorld rules. I found another one of your accounts / friends. It’s always the same users / accounts, every time. Should I take a closer look? Maybe I’ll find a third account, too?

I’m not going to post all of them right now, just a few: The list is ridiculously long again.

Nice attitude. Where did I say all I cared about is points? I was thrilled seeing anyone print anything I created and respond to all the comments and direct messages people send me. I was simply asking how a model with practically no engagement doesn’t get credit when someone prints it. I’m not out here selling these anywhere.
