Poll: Do you own a competitors printer?

Let’s see if the forum software allows this many questions. Voter identities are hidden, and results will only be displayed after voting to keep things as unbiased as possible. I’ve also filtered out members who haven’t completed the bot test to discourage attempts to sign up with multiple accounts to influence the poll. If you’re a new user, you’ll face the same restrictions as someone who just joined the forum—you’ll need to complete the 10-minute training or participate in a few posts first. I’m placing this in the feature request area because this type of topic is most commonly discussed here.

I have multiple Dutchy’s since I designed them. Apart from that I have a modified opilliones (500mm dia delta, 1m50 high) and a self designed/built foldable printer that I still need to finish for my small camper:

Yes, it’s a core XZ :sunglasses:

And of course an A1. Dutchy and A1 I just need to work and the other two are hobby/tinkering machines

I got myself a Plus 4 for high temp filament prints. Works great, but I have to admit that I did not yet try going beyond PLA on it

I had never heard of this so just search for it, they look nice, but the price is a bit crazy

edit/ but it’s probably wrong it’s listing build dimensions that don’t match with the product images at all

Those are the machine dimensions, the build dimensions are 200x200x200.

But the price is correct and is (or rather, was) justified. This was before Bambu, like I3 times (7 years ago). Around the same price as prusa/ultimaker but high end components, build in the Netherlands, small batches, completely metal construction, practically indistructable and no tinkering.

Also no bed leveling, just a flat and tram bed that did not need adjustment. Back to basic but high end and durable. It was mainly used in schools where the printers needed to be moved a lot from classroom to classrom, on top the students table and back into stogare. Back then no printer could do this reliably and easily (still most can’t I’d argue)

I dropped mine on the floor once, still worked (still level) and a customer did the same. We have some left that we will sell at 50% because of the drop in price of quality printers. But at 50% that covers only our components cost, so it will be the end of it.

No hard feelings because we did it because the competition couldn’t. Now they can so I’m off designing other stuff :tada: But yes, I still have multiple of them and I have less missprints or inaccuracies on them then on my Bambu, it just takes a bit longer

Not now, but I have owned several self-built printers; one bed-slinger, a Hypercude Evolution, and a Delta.

You are missing a few possible answers in your poll.

Poll questions:
What type of modifications are most important to you?
Missing: ‘ease of use’, ‘time saving’, and ‘user error reduction’.

Do you prefer a 3D printer that works out-of-the-box without modifications?
Missing: Yes, but I want the ability to modify it.
This is completely different than the other answers.

that’s cool, thanks for sharing, i get it, indeed these days the pricing is not really what it was a few years back, even Prusa had to control themselves with the Core One  (although it’s still on the pricier side, but not unreasonable)

lot of respect for you working in the development of that machine, it does look solid  :+1:

Missing Ultimaker in the list, one of the grandfather brands in desktop 3d printers.
