I wish I could have come up with a better way to title this. I printed my first multi-colored print with the AMS. The purge filament kept sticking to inner wall of the poop shoot causing the printer to stop printing and saying the shoot was backup on every filiment change. I had to manually “flick” the poop shoot to disloge the filiment stuck to the wall.
I really want to print more multicolored prints but I can’t be expected to baby sit the printer very time the filamnet purges. Is there any solutions?
As funny as it sounds, providing a picture of the “poop” can potentially help with what is causing the clogging. The arm on the poop shoot should be closing the little flapper door so that the poop coils into a small piece which will easily fall through the shoot. Do you have any modifications added?
I don’t see a metal piece from my perspective - I’d have to pull the AMS off and relocate the printer to get a better view.
I wish I had thought about shooting a photo of what was happening. I almost appeared that when the nozzle purged it wasn’t purging over the poop shoot but against the inner poop chute wall causing the sticking.
I am having this exact problem. I checked and i don’t see the metal piece. What is the piece for? The flap is not closing either, do you think its time to replace the chute? Any else i can try?
Thanks for the quick response and welcome. Just realized this was my first post.
I looked to see if the lever was working. I can push it with my hand and it works but when i was watching the tool head move I couldn’t hear the tell tale sound. So i took a picture of the back of the tool head… it was a there’s your problem moment!!
Hey people… My filament is sticking to my poop chute also, I have a metal square in my chute but its still sticks. I don’t understand if this thread solved the problem?
