Poop stuck in chute/clog fix for P1/X1

Put aluminium tape on the inside walls of the chute
100% fix, thank me later

Why does this help? What is the idea behind?

From what i can tell, it’s because melted material sticks to the plastic of the chute. PLA sticks well to plastic and doing this prevents poop from sticking and with that, it goes directly down.
I have tried with a p1s already a few months ago and can confirm it works much better and at least the chute doesn’t clog or fill with poop over time.

There is already a small metal plate in that area. I think it serves as a sort of heat sink to quickly cool poop and prevent sticking to the walls of the chute. Sometimes poop curls and twists, and misses the plate. The aluminum tape expands the size of the heat sink to deal with the occasional times when you don’t get the straight poop.

I’ve had my share of flung poop just because an old one was stuck. I’m thinking of lining the inside with PTFE spray to prevent anything from sticking, but I’m not sure how well it will work.

Dry PTFE spray is what I use. I reapply lightly every time I do maintenance, no problems since

Nice, I’ll give that a try. I use it a lot in my gyrocopter, so I know it won’t cause any issues with flying objects, at least.

Do you remove the chute entirely to spray and coat it?

I spray it in the back then wipe it over every surface

when there’s a clog it always starts there for me
