Not sure if I’m the only one, but when I’m using the stable version and the beta version of Bambu Studio on Windows it’s always a little mess. Even when I associate the 3mf files with the stable version it likes to open the Beta Version (installed in a different folder) when I open prints on MakerWorld.
Since we can’t use the beta Version to upload files to MakerWorld it would be really nice if there would be a portable version to make it easier to deal with two different versions on one machine. Or a button to re-associate .3mf files and handling of the MakerWorld website to an installation we pick. The current 3mf association option in the settings doesn’t seem to do the job.
The Windows .zip package is the portable version. It is independent of the stable .exe version.
Use the .exe to install the stable release, and associate the files to that version (Ctrl+P).
Make a separate folder (Beta Studio) anywhere you like and extract all the contents of the .zip to that folder, but do NOT associate .3mf, .stl, and .step files with the beta. When a new beta is released, just extract the new .zip contents into the same folder, overwriting the previous files. All of your presets will synch through the Bambu cloud to both stable and beta versions.
