I received a reply from support, stating that they will look into it.
In the meantime, I mentioned a quick and dirty fix:
Why not simply disable the HOME function if ever the end user manually moves the toolhead out of the automated normal position, requiring the end-user to manually move the toolhead and hotbed to a safety position first.
This is an easy implementation and does not require them to fiddle with sensors or give an excuse of needing some technical hardware or heavy firmware modifications…
