G’day. So, i’m unable to provide any photo’s at this stage due to the jankness of all the prints that have happened and i’ve since thrown away. BUT.
2 - 3 weeks ago, i started having print issues, and i’ve tried to calibrate it out with Flow dynamics and Flow Rate via Bambu Studio, and it’s almost as if the Auto Bed Leveller isnt doing its thing.
The last calibration i did, which was the 9 rectangles, it actually tore up and ripped up 3/9 of those rectangles, and it was grinding like all hell… so i stopped it.
I have a hardened steel nozzle. .4, everything, i repeat, LITERALLY EVERYTHING was default aside from that nozzle. and it is in correctly, i quadruple checked it.
I’ve also noticed in bambu studio, there’s a .5 x .5 offset naturally there, from installing a fresh version with no presets…
What’s going on? are there tests that can be requested that i can do to give you more answers or insights? is there anything i can do?
I actually do have some images. and i’m afraid the images just get worse and worse… here they are!!!
Ive never needed glue yet, just a clean with dish soap and paper towel.
Try a full machine reset, re calibration and a good plate clean, then try without glue.
FWIW I replied to ZulkirVT about his problem on another forum, I’ll post my reply here as I had much the same problem. Just some more info for everyone to read.
Had much the same problem with the work A1. With zero changes, the nozzle just started to drag itself across the surface of the plate and because there was effectively zero gap, zero filament was extruded. Had a poke around the Bambu forum but nothing really relevant mentioned so I found out how to raise the nozzle height.
After far too much faffing about I found that the default setting for the textured PEI plate was -0.02 mm. I kept raising it bit by bit and for most filaments I found that around +0.28 seemed to work okay.
I’ll have to check if the work A1 has auto-update enabled and if so I’ll likely turn it off. It’s asked for permission to do do updates before so it should still be in manual but I’ll check anyway.
My A1 has the auto-update turned off, because as has been mentioned on this sub forum several times, the latest update does some dodgy ■■■■ from Bambu and I refuse to install it. The printer seems to work just fine as-is so I feel no pressing need to update anything anyway.
The only hiccup mine is having at the moment is that when I hit the ‘Send To Plate’ button, it gets to about 30% and fails. When you use that configuration the file goes through the Bambu servers/cloud. But when I change the option to just ‘Send’ and so send the sliced file directly to the SD card, that works every time and I just start the print from there. Not being a conspiracy type person I’m not convinced that Bambu has tried to knobble people that aren’t using the latest firm/software, but it is a bit of a coincidence. FWIW I ran the work A1 on two ~6 hour prints yesterday and I forgot to use the profile that raises the nozzle height, but they seemed to print okay. The nozzle was certainly too close to the plate for the purge lines just before the actual print starts, but it was pretty much a good first layer after that. I’ll be trying some more prints today on it.
Just checked, the work A1 & mine both have the same firmware and the both have auto-update disabled.
