Potential Bots Photoshopping Profile Printed Pics?

Hey all,

I encountered something odd, twice, so I thought I’d share and see if other’s have seen it too.

A user messaged me on MakerWorld:

And then they added a profile to one of my models that clearly photoshopped another user’s image. I reported it and it was taken down, oddly though, a different user later did the same exact thing:

This “other” user then did the same thing and added a photoshopped image to a different model of mine:

Anyone else see something like this?

I can say only people try everything to get some points.

This poor cutout technique made me laugh

Looks like the two users’ profile photos are the same image cropped into different locations. The horizon is about the same and the grass is identical :joy:

A new form of a profile leach? :eye: Sounds like another good reason MW should allow the creators to police their own uploads.

I noticed the exact same thing from multiple accounts on some of my models:

  • profile photo of green grass
  • they send you a DM at the exact same time as the profile is uploaded so most likely a script/bot.
  • photoshopped or mirrored image stolen from a genuine user
  • weird user profile descriptions: something like “very good” or “enamoured” and then a random long number, e.g 1780769 - I assume some sort of bot ID, or to fill a character limit?

I’ve reported them to MW and they have removed the profiles from my models, but MW ignored their other print profiles despite being an obvious bot account.
