Hi,
Is it Possible to prepare and slice my next print job while my A1 AMS printer is working on another print job?
When I have a number of print jobs to do it would be very helpful if I could start the first one printing and then work on Bambu Studio to prepare and slice my next job. Then when the first job is complete and removed from the printer and just hit Print for the next job to start. I have never tried this but I have clicked on an error message which had been resolved while the printer was working and the printer stopped.
I have done this preped and sliced a seperate job while printing, if it makes it easier for you , you can also open a second instance of bambu studio to work on it ,
Sure. Once the printer is working, the Studio is free for whatever you want. And, as mentioned already, you can even start separate instances of Bambu Studio
Thanks for the rapid responses, I’ll give it a go, as I said I was just being careful, I didn’t want to mess up another print.
Cheers
I sometimes have as many as ten Studios running.
I do this to organise projects, send to the printers without disturbing other projects and simply being ready.
I often have several things printing at once across my many printers, often one project with different print profiles or different prototypes. I also target different projects to different printers.
I often use the slicer to test models for suitability of printing, what works, what doesn’t. I often try for complex angles that I need to know will print without supports or the bare minimum of them.
Using many different instances is very useful. Each instance can target a different print without conflicting with the other instances.
You can start sending the print in one and safely swap to another instance to slice.
There is one downside, minor, but annoying. If you get an error message (including PAUSES), all instances will receive that message, this can mean dismissing the same message many times.
