Having issues with flexible PLA filament. This one is much less rubbery/flexible than TPU so I thought it would be easier. The first try there was very low flow and many gaps… got worse. Print totally failed.
Recommended filament print temp 190-230… i did 215. print rate slowed to 15mm - 20mm/s. retraction down to 0.1mm. Flow tried 1, 1.1, 1.5. calibration run looks like a dotted line the first run, then stopped printing all together. Getting very frustrated! Please help. I’m a NOOB. I did 3-4 non-flexible PLA prints with the bambu filament that came with the printer. That’s it.
Had to clear nozzle, clear extruder and I cut the line. Then it wouldn’t even unload had to cut at the AMS.
I tried it again after all that and it worked BUT. AMS couldn’t even pull back the filament. It pulled it back about 5 inches out of extruder and jammed. Now have to manually cut and pull again.
I have to say i’m quite disappointed that the AMS can’t handle this. It’s barely flexible. Are there any adjustments I can make?
Not sure of this helps anyone or yourself. But what i do, because im worried about the nozzle blocking cuz i change filaments a lot, and i don’t wanna pull her apart just yet. too new.
and this might not be good advice, but coming from a manufacturing background i would purge nozzles and such after running stuff that could stick.
So for me i decided to use the cheap basic pla to purge the nozzle after changing to something else.
ie. for tpu i load the filament manually, and heat the head up manually over the poop chute lol until i see it start dripping thru with the tpu. after i finish printing i load the ams basic pla in, let it do its thing, then load unload the same filament once more to clear out any tpu or petg or whatever i was running. Again maybe this isnt necessary, but i really dont wanna pull it apart yet. lol im good at mechanical and electrical stuff, but this is the most expensive toy ive bought in a long while and dont feel like ruining it by mistake

It’s very easy to take apart / put back together, but just time consuming and a giant pain in the butt.

If you use you use you why don’t babmu labs recommend it in the AMS
