Prime tower difficult to remove cleanly

Im printing PETG + PLA support interface (relevant?) on my H2D. Post print, pulling the prime tower off the plate leaves a lot of sparse/thin filament that is difficult to remove completely.

Is it possible to ensure the first layer is solid fill, so it all comes off together?

Put it in the freezer for less than 10 minutes, and it will be easier to remove. If that doesn’t help, you can always try some other tricks.

Which build plate are you using?

Did you let the build plate cool down?

If you are using a PEI build plate, you might also try tro add some drops of IPA around the edges. Due to the capillary effect, it flows between the part and the plate.

Don’t use IPA on the Cool Plate though!

I use a plastic razor blade to clean the bed, in my case a cryo bed. Its not as effective on PEI though. Good adhesion has its down sides.

yeah. i can get it off with some effort. im looking for a solution that requires less effort :stuck_out_tongue: putting it in the freezer is more work

the textured cold plate :frowning:

Are you using glue stick (or some other glue) or nothing?

Agents like Magigoo and Black Magic are designed to release when the plate gets cold (room temperature).

I am not familiar with that plate.
If it can handle IPA, you could try it.

The Bambu Cool Plate Supertack, has a satin finish, definitely not textured, and they advise strongly against the use of IPA.
