Print by object unnecessary movement and collisions

I’m printing multiple objects that are all small and close to the print bed. Even so the printhead will only put down a single layer and then move to the purge chute. It stays for only a second then goes back to printing. Every time it does this it passes by other printed objects and now has struck three of them even though they were far enough apart for Studio’s proximity boundary. So if there are twenty layers that’s twenty trips to the chute per object for no apparent reason?

Do you have the timelapse feature enabled by any chance? In “Smooth” mode the printer will move the head back to the chute after each layer (for the first 5mm of height, at least, though there are some other scenarios, described in the wiki article under “Capture Logic” section). Seems like it should avoid any existing objects, but perhaps there’s a bug in some cases. I’m not sure if one can see these moves in the slicer’s preview (with tool paths enabled), but it’s worth a check.

I do have the Timelapse turned on. And since most of what I was printing was below 5mm that may explain it.
