Maybe BL should start paying me for support since I suggested this fix a while ago.
Oh wait, I went about my support the wrong way. I need to adjust my technique:
āI am a typical support agent.
I will not read your message and suggest only what my script says.
I will certainly not admit any fault with the productā
15.5 hours of a 16 hrs print and it stopped when I was watching it finishing the last bit with print cancelled notification. I bought the machine two weeks ago.
Same here, 17 hours print stopped in the middle of the night after 8 hours (print was cancelled message in the handy app and a SD card error). When I checked via Bambustudio it could not read the SD card content, I reinserted it and then it could read its content again. Dropped a support ticket. Thinking about replacing the SD card and downgrade to 1.06
And another oneā¦ It was my 3rd print on my new P1S . I was asleep so I did not check the camera. When I woke up, the Handy app said āprint cancelledā. I checked the printer and the printing bed was still in the middle and the printing head above the print. So the print was not cancelled. When cancelling a print then the bed moves downward and the printhead to the resting position. Iāve read the whole topic finding for a common-numerator and the only thing that keeps popping-up is the 01.07.00.00 firmware. Only one person reported having issues with a different firmware, but that report was not eleborate enough. It is more probable that this person experienced a different problem.
Machine : P1S + AMS Stock Card : Yes Formatted stock SD card : No Printed using: Handy app only Printer Firmware : 01.07.00.00 Approx Time Elapsed : 1.8h Time Lapse enabled : Yes Watched using camera : No Factory reset after firmware update : No Single/dual color print : Single Turned off between consecutive prints : No
In summary possible causes to this issue:
Someone āhackingā the cloud and cancelling prints at random: no because the print is not cancelled, because that looks different.
Faulty SD card: no. Numerous people replaced the card, formatted the stock card etc etc and still have issues.
Watching the print using the camera: Might trigger the problem faster, but numerous people also had this issue when not using the camera.
Enabling time lapse: Same as above.
Factory reset after firmware update: Multiple people still had the problemā¦
Turning off between prints: People reported with and without too.
Duration of print: It seems to me that the longer the print, the higher the chance this random error can occur.
In conclusion: the only common ground so-far is the 01.07.00.00 firmware. Even people with the fastest high-end SD cards without time-lapse or camera usage seem to have this issue.
If anyone from Bambu is reading this. Please update this firmware version and add some recovery for this edge-case. I can understand fixing this problem is hard and maybe even impossible. Especially when it is trigger by incidental read/write errors on the SD card. The problem would have been less annoying if I could just continue my print. So instead of the ācancelled printā error-handling, make some other error-handling. At least try to write the current print process to the SD-card (or upload to the cloud) so the print can be continued.
Iāve had this happen with multiple sd cards. First was a 128gb high endurance sandisk card that I reformatted to fat32. Still failed on a longer print. Bought a 32gb sandisk extreme and last night at 4 of 8 hours it canceled on its own. Running 1.07 firmware
I got a official response from Bambu about this issue. They wrote:
The temporary solution for this issue is to downgrade the printer firmware to the previous version and wait for the latest firmware update.
So basically in other words they are admitting now there is a bug in the 07 firmware and are no longer advising to replace the SD cards. So anyone experiencing these issues: downgrade your firmware!
Iām still running 1.07 and havenāt had the problem for a while (since getting a replacement SD card under warranty), so it seems intermittent; making it hard to say what fixed the problem.
So far, weāve had 3 people (user_3641910943, raul1234567890, khafra84) report the same problem on 1.06, so I donāt think thatās the issue either.
It would be really nice if we could read our own logs
Interesting youāre saying this as I had a print randomly cancel on itās own last night. I reported it to Bambu and I just got a response back saying this is a system of a corrupt file, corrupt SD card, or failing SD card and to format the SD card or replace if necessary. I think I might revert my firmware before I continue printing.
I had the issue twice on current firmware and once on old firmware, though Bambu says that the cancelation on the old firmware is likely a different issue.
They have admitted that this is a bug in the current firmware. After much back and forth they agreed to comp me 2 spools of the material that I lost, but no ETA on a fix
Same has just happened to me 1.07, P1S, AMS. Print head was just sat there in the middle of the job like it was paused. Iāve formatted the original card, reseated and rebooted. Started the job again. In the middle of my longest job Iāve done so far, 9 plates, 8th plate it cancelled.
Fingers crossed, got a replacement SD card on order, although reading the comments sounds to be firmware relatedā¦
Same issue just happened to me too. Super frustrating, lost a lot of time and filament.
Fresh SD card, latest firmware. Surprised Bambu is unable to fix such an inpactful issue to their users whom have reported it clearly for months. Fingers crossed the next update comes very soon and the changelog includes notes around fixing this specific issue!
How long has everyone with this issue had their printer? Iāve just had this issue much the same as everyone else, just wondering if itās in the ābatchā of printers, this happened to my new printer Iāve had about a month, nil issues with older printer thatās about 10 months old, Same printers P1S, both have AMS, both on same firmware
Just had the same issue, had the printer since Nov 2024, currently has 227 hours of printing. Cancelled itself about 2 hours into a 5 hour print for no reason, and also embedded the head in what I was printing when it cooled down.
So far itās been okay since I formatted the original card, reseated and rebooted. I do have a SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO to test but havnt got round to it yet. Still on the 1.07 firmware.
