Print Cancelled, but why and by what?

I have a P1S, started a 5 hr print just before bed. Woke up in the morning with a print cancellation notification from the Handy app.

Went to check on the print to see why, but I have no idea why, plenty of filament, no layer shifts, missing covers. Bambu Studio doesnt show anything, no errors. Checked the SD card in the PC, not corrupted.

Handy app just says cancelled as if I have cancelled the print myself, which I certainly didnt do at 3:30am

Any ideas why the print might had just cancelled itself without any user interaction? Its a little concerning that a print can seemingly just cancel itself like 4hrs into a 5hr print wasting filament and energy.

Thanks

Did you not have anything in the HMS section on Bambu Studio or Handy?

Nevertheless, my guess would still be the SD card. I had something similar earlier this week, although in my case I did see an SD card error. Perhaps this was because I happened to be sitting by the printer at the time.

I, like you, checked the SD card on my PC and found no errors. I’ve replaced it anyway, as I’ve heard bad things about the quality of the stock SD card.

I had a similar issue earlier on an A1 , it appeared to be a late notification as i had cancelled a print, but it appeared on the printer while the new print was still going along ( studio / printer / lag ? ) for clarification it was a print finished/reprint notification

Hi

No nothing at all in HMS on Bambu Studio or Handy, it shows on the print history as cancelled, exactly the same as prints that I have actually cancelled. No errors anywhere.

I did re-print it last night (re-sliced too) and it printed without a hitch. I did also reboot and upgrade to the latest firmware (I was running the beta FW).

Only instance I could find on these forums was a similar issue and the Bambu techs found it was related to expired certs, but that was quite a while ago. Printer Stops in the middle of the print

personally id be looking for a communication error in studio/handy/printer and being part of this

It could have been a glitch in your power service. Electric companies typically switch their generators at night when demand is low. Sometimes it results in a glitch in the power lines that disrupt some devices. The weather, especially electrical storms and high wind, can also cause glitches on the power lines. An UPS (uninterruptible power supply) or a power conditioner device is typically used to prevent such issues.

Good morning,
This happened to me as well last night. I have a 16 GB SD card, which was at 8.1 GB usage because of some time… I recorded. In the past, I had failed print because of a bad ST card and after replacing the SD card, the print continued fine. I had this failed print after yesterday’s film update to 1.07. I also did not find any errors except the notification on the smartphone app that print has been canceled stop I will format SD card and then continue printing. And before people ask, it’s a higher quality as the card and not a cheap one.

So when I experienced this, normally I would then form out DST card and then just finish or I am trying now to make sure that I’m below 8 GB of SD card usage. Maybe the printers have an issue with addressing or allocating space on the card above the 8 GB limit - if this exists, I don’t know. It’s just an assumption, but I hope it may helps.

Good Morning all,
This also just happened to me as well, on firmware 1.07. Could that be the issue? I had a 15 hour print queued up, normal settings, and no issues with AMS, Extruder, Bed, on my P1P. My SD card is one I put in- a sandisk 128gb with a good transfer rate. It was a one color print, and there were no layer shifts. I also have been doing other prints just fine, and a couple weeks ago I did the routine maintenance and cleaning.

Is there a way to revert firmwares?

You should be able to revert via the Handy App.

just happened to me, 7 hour print, only got a notification it was “canceled”, was a lot of waste not to lie… any updates on this? Its… not optimal to just have prints canceling themselves

This happened to me last night, 90% of an 11 hour print.
Also have 1.07 update recently.
Have swapped out to a samsung SD card now.
It was weird when it stopped it didnt retract the head or the plate, so it was like it was paused, so probelmatic to remove the incomplete print too.

Also on 1.07. Had a 30 hour print cancel itself 20 hours in. Tons of wasted time and filament.

Mine also didn’t retract the head or plate - the nozzle just froze where it was.

Also updated to 1.07 and exactly the same problem. Print cancelled 5 hours into a print, no reason just says print cancelled, nozzle froze, lots of wasted filament. They need to get this fixed asap, please all make sure to submit a ticket to Bambu so they address it quickly.

the same thing happened to me twice just right now.
I first thought it was a sd card error, since I still used the stock sd that came with the printer.
i bought a new good one, formatted it to fat32 and put it in.
Today I tried the same print, only for it to fail at exactly the same spot. No further messages as to why it stopped, just that the print was cancelled.
200g of filament down the drain now. Where do I complain or report this? This needs to be fixed immediately!

Just had the same exact thing happen. Lots of lost filament, and the printer just stopped mid print, didn’t lower plate or retract head. No indication of what went wrong.

Since this seems to be happening a lot lately…

All those reporting this a problem, please respond with the following info:

Stock SD card: yes or no

Bambu Lab Slicer Version:

P1 Firmware version:

Approximate layer number where it failed:

Approximate time elapsed between print start and failure:

This will help isolate where the issue might be…

Project 3mf and/or gcode might be helpful as well.

Just returned home to see this same issue. Fist time I have a problem I could not recover from, which is also not my own fault. I was printing Panel Carrier holder from makerworld, id: 754543 (1 inch 6 walls version)

The whole print: 700 layers, 5h22m, 20043 KB gcode size, readable on SD card;

Stock SD card: yes

Bambu Lab Slicer Version: 1.10.1.50

P1 Firmware version: 1.07.00.00

Approximate layer number where it failed: 564 / 700 ± 1 layer

Approximate time elapsed between print start and failure: 3h 58min ± 1min

I want to add to my comment. The timelapse was being recorded for the print and I can see how the head stops 2 seconds before the end of the timelapse video. So it is not a power failure and SD card was being accessed to write the video stream.

I wonder if its timelapse related, I rarely use them but did on my failed print as it was a larger print. When I re-printed I didnt bother with timelapse.

Was everyone elses timelapsed?
