Print Fail: Filament extruded into Build Area

Hell all, this is my 5th print on my brand new P1S. Just got it 4 days ago. I’m currently printing this figure —

I am using the “Basic Green PLA” from Bambu, which was included in my P1S order.
The prior 4 prints were all under 2 hours, they were the smaller pieces small prints. They came out completely fine and this problem did not occur during those prints. As you can see in the pictures below.

However,
This one was the longest/biggest by far, it took 11 hours. All the pieces besides the tail came out well and successfully. Taking a closer look at the tail now, I notice that the print failed while printing the tail. As pictured below.

Now im wondering, is my problem the simple fact that I didnt have supports for it?

I have this model in queue of things to print. It looks like the tail will need some support for the overhang.

Just to clarify your pic:

You’re looking at a failure in the middle there, not that tall edge.

I would 100% add a support there, the nozzle imparts a light pressure on the object, and that object’s geometry is a perfect lever to amplify that force. You’d need a heroic brim/glue solution to get that done w/o support.

That’s 100% a lack-of-support issue and not a P1S issue.

Default support for the tail using Tree(auto) in Bambu Studio.
