P1S printer, 0.4 mm SS hot end, PLA filament of different types and manufacturers,
How to describe this? A model prints a square border, then, I want to fill the middle, but the print head only fills the middle to within about 1/4 inch all the way around.
This happens with several models from Makerlab or Online Models, models that I have printed before all different sizes, including a benchy…
I have completely uninstalled BB Studio, and re-installed latest version, just in case I changed something and not aware what…
We will probably need to see what you are doing. A benchy usually does not have a “border” to fill. Upload a .3mf of a model that prints this way so we can see your settings.
I hope this is what you want…
Notice that the first layer does not fill out to the edges (What I called borders) This happens on all models I try to print, On a vase model I attempted, the higher the walls of the model is printed, the worse the model gets, leaving gaps in the walls, and under extrusion. This all started 2 days ago, and at this point in time, I can not print anything. I have tried different models (a vase, a flat sign, and the benchy) using different PLA formulaes from different manufacturers (Sunlu, Creality, and even BamBu labs) -
On the vase, one thing I did noticed is that the first layer outer wall is printed with gaps, it gets worse from that point on:
This problem is a result of an incorrect pressure advance or “K” value. Bambu Studio refers to this calibration as Flow Dynamics. Basically this value determines when the flow of filament is stopped/started before the end of the travel move.
Jon, I owe you a dinner. I don’t know how the K factor got changed, but I found it set to 0.30., instead of a stately 0.04-0.05 which is what it tested as the should be K value.
I’m gonna change my user name to id10t. (Change to all caps) In all of this, I also learned how to attach pictures!
Thanks again for all your help, I really was at the pulling out hair stage, I was up until after 1AM trying to fix this…
