I was printing a piece last night that filled most of my print bed. Bambu Studio showed a clear border around the piece, and showed no error messages. I thought I was home free. A significant portion of the print completed with no problem, but then DOOM hit. The tool head started hitting that spring loaded piece above the camera, making that clicking sound that we have all heard and learned to ignore. But then the tool head completely ran aground when it collided with something in that same corner with a crashing sound, stopping it and displaying the message that the printing had been paused due to the “front cover of tool head fell off”. The cover was still visually and physically still attached. I have only found the cover dislocated just once, however, either way, a removal and replacement is apparently still required as part of the Reset and Resume process. The printing restarted and ran for a while, followed by another collision sound, then another Pause, followed by another Resume a couple more times, during which I tried to determine the cause.
What I found was that the clicking sound occurred periodically as the head cover passed the camera corner of the case then, after watching a couple more passes and clicking sounds, the head then crashed into something in that camera corner of the case, each time resulting in another print “Paused and Resume” cycle. I then cancelled the print before causing any permanent damage.
I tried re-aligning the model on the plate and reprinting the same item, but met up with the same behavior. I tried rotating the model into a different orientation, also to no avail. This behavior occurs only in this one corner of the bed.
I have previously printed this same piece on the same bed, twice before, with no issues. I just recently installed the new firmware upgrade and performed a Calibration (the one on the top of the Device tab in Bambu Studio). I have never performed this Calibration previous to a few days ago. Other than those 2, no other changes have been made.
I appreciate any feedback.
Thank you
