Print monitoring

I’m coming from the X1C and want to get another printer, and I don’t think its worth the extra money for a second X1C for my application. And since the launch of the P1S, I think it’ll be perfect for me as a second printer. However, ai monitoring is one of the most important features for me. I know the P1P/ P1S doesn’t have a lidar sensor, and etc. But it does have a camera, so is there any sort of AI monitoring done through the handy app for these printers?

If not has anyone modded the P1P in a way to automatically monitor prints? Is there third party options?

no AI in that 5fps camera, and its a locked down system so no 3rd party support, even if there was the P1s and p1p dont have a good enough SOC and camera to even use AI detection, 5 fps is not enough

Dang, really want a second printer but can’t justify another X1C for personnel use. I have a MK3S w/ spaghetti detective (Upgrading it to a mk4 would cost more than getting a new ready-to-go printer w/ enclosure), but after using the X1C, I fell in love with its features. Was hoping the P1 series had some sort of AI monitoring.

if using the right setting and such prints hardly fail. for long prints just use the app to check it every 30 min or an hour, thats still way better then a prusa MK4

I’m confused. Why wouldn’t spaghetti detection work with a frame every 10 seconds? A still image is all that is needed.

Yep that’s correct it only needs a few frames to do analysis it doesn’t matter how far apart they are. In fact for normal cameras there is a special video stream that’s around 6fps that’s just used for ai detection. Wish that my p1s had it, even though it hasn’t failed yet

because there is not enough cpu to analyze that frame. for now…but maybe in the future they pull something
