I unpacked and installed my X1E today. During calibration, the print nozzle ran over the plate and scratched it. The print head tried to move beyond the print plate and made a loud blocking noise. As I see it, the print was delivered broken.
Has anyone had this before? I no longer have the confidence to carry out a new calibration.
Many thanks for any help.

Hello, I’m facing a similar issue. I noticed that after the first 2 layers of printing, the Hotend returns to cleaning area and starts drawing a small square directly on cool plate in the position shown in the attached photo. After few seconds re-start to print and complete the job correctly. But I don’t understand why should damage the plate and just in that position. I only printed a couple of objects and it’s happened each time. Thanks for your help.
This is by design, the printer wipes the nozzle tip in this area at the start of each print. You can find a note for it on bambu store site for each plate bambu sells.
Quote from site: Before auto-leveling, it is necessary to repeatedly rub the nozzle in the special wiping area of the build plate to completely remove any residual material at the tip of the nozzle. The coating in the special-designed wiping area will gradually become worn over time. This is normal and does not affect print quality or nozzle lifetime, so there is no need to worry about any quality issues.
The scrapping on the back wing of the plate is normal. That’s how the printer cleans the tip of the nozzle before leveling the bed. The mark in no way disrupts the printing surface.
Edit: Ops. I see philch beat me to it.
@philchn, @Ken-N-Texas , Thanks a lot for your explanation.
