I wish there was a by-color option in bambu studio to control the print sequence on the same plate. As of right now, if I have 8 objects spread across two colors (4 red and 4 green, for example) I cannot put all 8 on the same plate unless I’m willing to incur considerable filament swaps. Or unless they are they are small enough that I can use by-object and segregate them to different parts of the plate (impossible on my A1 mini).
A by-color option would allow the head-clearance to only be required between the two colored groups. With AMS, this option could let us put up to 4 groups of objects on a single plate and still have near-zero color swaps we can have in object mode.
To illustrate my point. Here’s my use case with by-object option (not viable).
Further to the above technique, the Bambu Studio v1.9.0 Public Beta added a feature to specify the sequence in which colours printer on the fist and subsequent layers.
The detailed instructions have already been published in the WiKi for the next Public release.
Super easy! When you know how…
Select the Plate that the part is on from the column on the left of the screen.
Select ‘First Layer Filament Sequence’ from the Plate Settings below.
Choose ‘Customise’.
Select the order that you’d like to use.
I can’t add the link, but check youtube for “Bambu Studio - Change Filament Print Order”, by user Pixel_to_Prototype.
