Print parts of the same model in sequence

On the same model, is it possible to print one section first and then another?
I have a little object that looks like this:

| |
------------

It is a solid base with little towers, which have about 2mm in height. To eliminate stringing, and to speed up the print, I would like for one of the little towers to be fully printed first, and then print the other one.

I tried breaking the model in multiple objects, but then the models can’t overlap, and I couldn’t get the objects positioned at on offset from the plate.

Hi,

I am unsure if this is possible with BL Studio. While the overlap is achievable, I don’t know how to overcome the minimum distance between objects required for object sequence printing.

Are you aware if Orca entails this option?
In Cura, some tools may (depending on the print) allow achieving such an objective; nevertheless, the distance between towers needs to be enough for the extruder clearance; otherwise, it will crash into the print.

I’m not aware of any slicers that will do this. You’re better off tuning the retraction as best you can.

You cant do that as the toolhead would hit … even if you split them into pieces you could print by object but need a WIDE space between them to get it to slice (Autoarrange can do automagically for you)

I believe that Simplify3D can do this. Although I don’t want to pay again for their new version of their software to be able to use my X1C…

cura does it as long as they are under a certain height and far enough from each other to not collide with the head.
