Dear @MakerWorld & @Tanklet
Where has the [Add Print Plates] button gone from the Add Profiles function?
It does not appear when adding or editing profiles.
We have disabled this feature due to its high rate of misuse and abuse. The primary reasons are:
We found many profile uploaders set set plate images as the cover, even if they also upload real photos. This prevents users from intuitively understanding the printability of the print profile.
Additionally, a large number of uploader directly use plate images as covers, which provides a convenient workaround for users who do not upload real images.
Seriously?
Whilst I understand people abused the feature, the vast majority of people don’t and utilise the feature to add users.
Please, turn it back on as the innocent majority shouldn’t be penalised for the crimes of the few.
There are better ways for you to detect these things.
For example; you know they did that and you can flag users and determine if they are acting in bad faith.
Those who download my models often find it easier to determine which of the many print profiles I provide, which is often 7, the current one has 16, some with AMS support, some with PAUSE. Letting them know which AMS ones match which PAUSE ones is easier than showing them the colour-coded build-plate thumbnails.
The most recent one has a few different 2xAMS, 1xAMS and PAUSE variants.
As an aside, my first use of the new and improved live chat failed as they told me to write a ticket for this, “Did I need help?”!
Are you serious? Is this the new system we were told was BETTER than the ticket system?
Please note that we have access to more data of how our customers use features and decisions are taken based on that information.
We welcome your feedback about the changes and features available, but it will not always be possible to keep all the features unchanged, during the Beta period, or after launch.
Thank you for your understanding!
I have reported well over 3,000 models/profiles and the thing you have removed didn’t represent even 10% of the ones I reported.
It wouldn’t be so bad if when I (and many others) report those who DO break the rules, cheated the system and did the bad things you often speak of - were taken seriously and not given the response “They didn’t break any rules”.
You know, after I provided the rules they broke!
I am told by others I have far more luck in reporting than most, so, if I get this problem too often, imagine how bad the system is for others.
I want this place better, I will always back the things that make value change differences. I do not like cheap excuses or the removal of features because a few people use them incorrectly.
This service has not been a beta for some time. Still calling it a beta is just so you have an excuse for when things screw up.
If you do not think I am here trying to improve things then you haven’t understood anything I do or why.
