Print settings not being saved

I’m having a weird problem. Bambu Studio is not saving the User Preset with the 3mf file. Any ideas what could be happening or how to fix this?

Thanks!

I can interpret your problem description in several ways, so we might need more info about the preset, what you are trying to accomplish, what is missing, etc.

Saving a .3MF should retain changes to a preset within that project, but it will not change or (normally) include the preset itself.

For example, if I am using the default 0.20mm Standard @BBLX1C process, enable supports and turn off brim for a project, the process name will gain a * prefix, and then saving the .3MF will preserve the changes for that project within the .3MF. When I load that .3MF again it will use the 0.20mm Standard @BBLX1C process with supports enabled and No-brim. The Support and Others tabs and the modified settings will be highlighted in red to indicate that they use different settings than the preset.

Same if I’m using a User Preset, changing settings in a .3mf does not change the selected User preset. Saving a change in the preset is a separate operation from saving a change in the project.

To save the changes as a user preset for use in other projects, you have to save the preset separately, with the floppy disk icon next to the preset name, and give it a new name.

If perhaps you want to include your existing User preset with a project for someone else that does not have your User preset, you can do so as a “Preset inside Project”. Or export the preset separately, to be imported by the other party.

Here are some more details. The .3mf file is not saving the Project Filament information nor is it saving the Process setting. For example “0.16mm Standard @BBL H2D”. It’s easy for me to change these back to the original but it takes time and in the past this info was saved in the .3mf.

How are you saving the .3mf? Make sure you use “File-> Save Project As” and “File->Save Project”.
