Hi all. I’m trying to print this tent model I found on makerworld here and my print time is way off compared to what it says.
I have a P1S with the default 0.4mm nozzle, printing the “X1P1 – (compatible with KC007 accessories)” version of the model with the P1S 0.4 nozzle selected, and I haven’t changed any settings. All I did was paint the model in the colours I wanted it to be. I’m using bambu PLA filament (as the designer suggested in the BOM although not those colours). The suggested print time for the model is 4.9h, however I bring it into studio, paint it, and hit slice (without changing anything) and my print time is 12h 31m?
What is going on? If any more information is needed to troubleshoot please let me know, first time posting a help topic on here. Thanks
The model with two colors has 22 filament changes and an estimated print time of 4hrs 51minutes. Changing colors does not change the time, but if you painted different areas or changed colors more often on a single layer you will greatly increase the print time.
I painted the same areas that were on the original, I just replaced the colours essentially. Not sure why it made the print time increase 3x but to get around it I just re-imported the default model and then replaced the colours in my AMS slots instead of painting the model in the slicer.
Okay actually I just figured it out, when painting it was only applying the colour to the outside of the model and not all the way through. There was 287 filament changes
You should start over and not repaint but change the color mapping in the Filament section of the settings. Just replace the selected color filaments with the colors you plan to use, that way it should come out as the same time as the other.
Painting can be tricky and you might have inadvertently painted areas inside that weren’t before, my best guess at least.
