Is that possible?
Anybody tried this before?
Could you please share your experience?
That’s how it should work. Not sure what your question is, apologies. That would be 5 rolls of filament in the system.
you can literally have 4 AMS2 Pros + 8 AMS HTs all connected to the same printer
And with the correct external spool setup, you’ll be able to load up to 25 materials in total.
Yippee If you had to use it on one print of all 25 colors, it would last for a month or more lol…
I have 3 AMS so I can have access to12 colors for a single print. However, two AMS will use the left hotend and the other AMS will use the right hotend.
You can also do it with AMS + external spool.
H2D has three inputs.
Two for regular filaments and one for TPU only.
How can you connect three AMS to them?
I thought you only can connect two AMS to inputs for regular filaments.
You just use a splitter like the one below or you can even use a printed one.
Thank you!!
How does this work??
because 4 tube to 1 tube doesn’t make sense.
When it changes color, how does it pull different color filament into H2D???
If you are doing dual color prints, its fast with two hot ends, but as soon as you go to 3 filaments/colors and above it has to swap filaments for each layer, increasing the printing time exponentially, but that is the basis for how the AMS works. It retracts the filament, loads a new one, flushes it, and starting printing, doing this dance for every layer. You can only have one filament per hot end loaded at one time, so the 4 into 1 makes sense. That is what the AMS is, a multi material system to use multiple materials with one hot end by loading and unloading each one. You should check out some videos on youtube to get a better understanding of how it functions.
