Hello,
newbie here. I tried printing a couple of the provided files on the printer and I applied the glue stick to the plate before starting. After printing the parts are stuck to the cool plate so well I am having a hard time removing them without the parts breaking. Is there a trick or method to use to prevent this? This is my first time using a 3d printer so I am new to the process and I did not want to damage anything by trying to scrape them off or something without asking first. Thanks!
Cool down the plate to release the print. Might even hsve to put it in the fridge for a few minutes. Sometimes a razor blade is needed, but be careful not to dig down too deep and ruin the plate.
Flexing the plate after it has cooled will usually make the parts pop off.
I’ve never needed a razor blade or the metal scraper included with my X1C, but the small plastic scraper printed from internal memory has been useful. (I know, too late, can’t print that until you can clear the plate!) A plastic putty knife would probably work as well.
Simply soaking the plate in water would probably loosen the glue and the part.
all the above is great advice, sometimes I feel like the new plates have a bit better time bonding so there is a little bit of a wear in period even with glue. For newcomers sometimes printing the included scrapper helps keep the blade parallel to the plate. You just have to know the proper way to assemble it.
Thanks for the tips everyone!
