Printer fails initial calibration

Has anyone had an issue with the printer failing during its initial calibration? I’ll get 50% done and it says calibration failed

But the code takes me to a 404 error page

Double check you removed all screws carboard, foam, zip tie according to quick start guide. Note: the foam underneath the bed can be removed later.

If you can’t find anything i would have skipped it for now, you can run calibration in Adjustment tab → Calibration. Try update firmware and try to rerun the calibration again. And see if it fixes it or maybe you hopfully get a new working error code.

I just reran the calibration and all went okay afterward, been doing print both pre and post firmware update for PLA+, ABS and PETG and between the default plate that comes with in as well as testing the PEI plate. So far, nothing but being impressed. (coming from CR-6 as my latest printer).

Well I made sure to undo everything as directed but after several attempts it did finally calibrate. After I connected to wifi it was able to successfully calibrate

Hi, I had the same issue. I’ve upgraded the firmware now to .01.01.01.00. After the initial failed calibration the bed did move up, so I don’t think it’s stuck. Did yours make 3 to 4 loud clicking sounds during calibration ? I was a bit concerned that those sounds sounded like something being damaged. I see your succeeded just by trying again and again but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t damaging something before trying again, plus see if there is anything else to do - for example, I saw via google one guy re-torqued three screws by the Z axis motors, I guess they would be the belt tighteners. Appreciate any thoughts/guidance.

Yes, after doing a factory reset on firmware version 1.5.1.0 calibration failed. Calibration is part of a factory reset. I tried doing a factory reset twice and both times the calibration failed at 3% completion. In my case it didn’t even show a QR code as to why it failed. I was however able to manually start a calibration which was successful. Never did figure out why it fails on my printer after a factory reset. Since it passes when done manually I have not bothered to open a support case.

Hi, I’ve a big problem mit my new X1e:

Print nozzle scratched over the print plate during calibration!
I unpacked and installed my x1E today. During calibration, the print nozzle ran over the plate and scratched it. The print head tried to move beyond the print plate and made a loud blocking noise. As I see it, the print was delivered broken.
Has anyone had this before? I no longer have the confidence to carry out a new calibration.
Many thanks for a tip.

I have exact same issue with new A1 printer.
