Printer interface needs more verbose notifications

My x1 carbon is sometimes mind numbingly frustrating to use. These machines need a more verbose interface as to what they are in the process of doing and if able, user inputs should override whatever the printer is trying to do. Whenever I have a clog or a jam, (which is more frequent than I would like) The printer has a mind of its own. It stops heating the hot end even after I clicked unload. Why the hell does the extruder go over the filament chute and then back to the front left and THEN BACK AGAIN TO THE FILLAMENT CHUTE? The printer gives no indication of what it is doing or why. Please add more verbose interface screens explaining what is happening or make user inputs override current program. I just want to unload and unclog my hot end. #firmware-feature

Pretty sure when it goes to the front left it is cutting the filament then goes back to the chute to pull the filament back to the AMS.
