Printer likes lubrication

Hi together, i just Initialized the printer. Direct after this he asks for lubrication. Is this correct ?

Sounds like a bug (it was probably too long since it was last turned on during a factory test or something like that). It should be lubricated out of the box.
That said, feel free to check and lubricate it

Got mine a couple of weeks ago. I vaguely recall the same happening to me, but I ignored it, as you can see the lub on the rods.

This is a default message that pops up on first power up with certain firmware releases. The printer does need maintenance after many hours of use but there was no prompt telling you to do so. A firmware update added the prompt and triggered it on the next power on so that everyone with a Bambu printer would see it. The idea was to prompt owners with older printers to do the maintenance. Those with newer printers can dismiss the message and are now aware that it will need to be done in the future.

then scroll down to OTA version 01.04.00.00 (20230207)

Also, do NOT lube the carbon rods! The print head rides on graphite bushings which do not require lubrication but do need cleaning, especially if you print with filaments that release particulates. ASA and ABS are among the filaments that increase the need for cleaning.

Thanks for your advice guys  its awesome how fast it runs. It runs really nice, except ams slot three. Two times filament already get stuck. This i habe to figure out what is the problem.

Going slightly off topic, but I’ve seen people spray IPA onto the carbon rods & I’ve seen people use a cloth with IPA on it. When spraying, the IPA is bound to go over the belt near the rods. So my question is, does IPA damage the belt?

You should not spray it. When you spray you will reach an lot stuff what not should be in contact with ipa. Just use an cloth.

“Lubrication is indeed a crucial aspect when it comes to maintaining printers. Proper lubrication helps ensure smooth operation and reduces wear and tear on various components. It’s important to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and use the recommended lubricants to prevent any damage to the printer. Regularly lubricating the necessary parts can significantly extend the lifespan of the printer and improve its overall performance. Remember, a well-lubricated printer is a happy printer!”

Well Might want to check the PTFE tube there it might not be right inside. It does come with spare tubing, atleast mine did. Have you tried first a roll that is already working correctly and swaped it over to slot 3? Maybe it just don’t like that roll filament for one reason or another?
