I recently bought a P1P. the first project I’ve been working on out of the gate is an external shell for it. The printer started off amazing - perfect bed adhesion, prints turning out very well…however, this weekend, I started noticing some blemishes in the quality of my prints. they were fairly minor at first, but have gotten pretty bad (see photos).
I did install the heavy duty toolend cable and a (Bambu Labs purchased) cable chain this weekend, but I have removed them since fearing they might have been to blame.
I’ve recalibrated the device, checked/adjusted filament type, and tried different filament types, all with the same unfortunate results. I’ve also tried printing other models, and get similar results there as well.
I’ve attached photos to demonstrate what I’m seeing.
“Clog” doesn’t mean it doesn’t flow at all, though it can. Clogs can be partial. Nozzles also wear out or can be damaged. A nozzle swap is a quick and easy way to eliminate that as a concern. And it’s a reasonable suspect when printing goes from good to bad suddenly.
The issues you’re having look like they’re all in the overhanging parts of the model. I’d check your part cooling fan is actually turning on first. If it is then make sure in the filament settings it’s coming on 100% for overhangs. You should be able to see and hear it,as it’s quite loud at max speed. Also, enable ‘slow down for overhangs’. And lastly, that you haven’t changed the order of printing to outer/inner/infill (unlikely). I don’t think it’s a clog, especially if these are some of your first prints on the machine.
I was also dealing with the same problem. After a few days of debugging, I noticed that the print cooling fan was not turning. I had the connector turned around (my fault), in yours it may be a wrongly inserted connector.
Thanks @ByPepa_cz - that was my issue. Looks like I only had a single row of pins connected when I put the front of the toolhead back on after my cable chain upgrade.
